Since I took that first photograph of a bin next to St Stephen's church back in January 2024 and created the instagram account @bins_of_congleton this whole thing has become something of a love letter to the place I call home.
I continue to trek the hundreds of streets, rows of shops, green spaces, churchyards and alleyways in a bid to photograph and rate every bin in Congleton.

Bins World Cup 2026
Help crown 'The Greatest Litter Receptacle on Earth'
48 bins from across the world entered the contest and after a gruelling group stage, we are slowly progressing through the elimination rounds to decide the winner.
Our competition will run alongside FIFA's showpiece - but thankfully no hydration breaks, Presidential interventions or questionable VAR decisions here!
Instead, it's all good fun, as we highlight the fascinating variety of show-stopping bins from across the planet.

Each bin is named, simply so that we can tell them apart. The unique monikers are dreamt up by followers to the instagram page and are mostly a nod to the bin's location, type and general demeanor. There are 52 here. Which is your favourite?
